Bonnies Blues Event Center is one of my favorite new Colorado wedding venues. It is located in Elizabeth, Colorado– which is Southeast of Denver and only about a 40 minute drive from downtown.
This venue is an upscale, rustic barn venue with tons of space. The venue feels open and airy without feeling industrial or cold. My favorite thing about the venue is the open lawn which allows for the best reception and cocktail hour time.

Bonnie Blues has some of my favorite getting ready suites because there is so much natural light. The suites are cottage style, which means you and your partner each have your own space a little removed from one another but still super close to the main venue. They are spacious and airy and feel super high end. There are showers and bathrooms attached, which is super convenient. The smaller of the suites has a foosball table and golf outside– making it the perfect hangout spot before ceremony!
Ceremonies at Bonnie Blues are typically held outdoors under their gazebo style ceremony site. On clear days you can even see the mountains! Indoor ceremonies are an option in case of inclement weather. (They would be held in the reception site).
Cocktail hour is amazing at Bonnie Blues Event Center! There is a gorgeous wrap around “porch”/covering that allows guests to mingle throughout the lawn. The space has heaters for the winter months and plenty of tables and seating for guests.
Receptions are held indoors in the massive barn area. There are super high ceilings and tons of natural light making it feel incredibly spacious. You can also transition to outdoors for dancing and mingling throughout the night which has such a fun vibe.
If weather is nice, you can move all the dancing outdoors under the string lights. This is such a fun and unique take on a dance floor and really has a fun, unique vibe.
I have such a blast photographing the portraits at Bonnie Blues because there are so many fantastic spots! You can stick to the lawn for a more manicured look, or venture to the front of the venue for a more rustic approach. And you have to take a few out in the street which looks so epic– just watch for cars!!
This wedding was such a blast to photograph. The venue was still incredibly lush and green, even in July. There was a bit of rain but luckily I had some clear umbrellas in my car so the outdoor ceremony was able to go as planned– and then we were gifted with a rainbow!
