Colorado Engagement Locations

As a Colorado engagement photographer, I've scouted far and wide to find the best spots! Colorado has a wide variety of different locations and backdrops, from mountains to lakes to deserts. Whatever your vision is, Colorado will likely have something you'll love! (Unless you're looking for ocean views... you'll have no luck in that department). These locations are just the tip of the iceberg! All my couples receive a full location guide full of hidden gems!

Mount Falcon

Morrison

Mount Falcon is my most frequently spot for engagement photos. It is only 30 minutes from Denver and has beautiful mountain views, open fields and lots of trees!

Sprague Lake

Rocky mountain park

Sprague Lake is a gorgeous lake in Rocky Mountain National Park, it's about 1.5 hours from Denver but the drive is so worth it! There is a $50 permit fee to photograph here.

Chautauqua Park

Boulder

Chautauqua is about 30-45 minutes from Denver and features beautiful views of the Flatirons. There is virtually no shade so a sunrise or sunset session is a must!

Sapphire Point Overlook

breckinridge

Sapphire Point is a beautiful overlook that is incredibly accessible. The only downside is it's a hugely popular hiking area so you might want to consider a weekday!

Garden of the Gods

colorado springs

The Garden of the Gods is one of the most unique locations, it is a stunning spot with the gorgeous red rocks in the background. This location is best at sunrise or sunset.

Cheeseman Park

Denver

Cheeseman Park is one of my favorite urban parks in Denver, there are gorgeous pillars, pine trees, and open grassy areas.

Vail Village

Vail

Vail Village looks straight out of a Christmas movie– it is a gorgeous place for wintery engagement photos.

Union Station

Denver

Union Station is a super cool place for engagement photos. The station has awesome architecture if you're wanting more of an urban environment.

Dillon Ice Castles

Dillon

The Dillon Ice Castles are only in Colorado in the winter, but wow is it a stunning location. If you are wanting some epic, winter vibes for your engagement photos, this might be the spot.

"Leah knows how to make you look your best"

""On top of that, she is sweet and will make you feel so comfortable in front of a camera! She took my college graduation pictures after my first set turned out horrible and my proposal pictures while she hid in a bush, so I wouldn't see! I love all my pictures from her and she is such a joy to be around. Book her now and you won't regret it!"

-Sarita

"Absolutely amazing"

""I am very camera shy and very awkward person. I was super nervous to do my engagement shoot, but Leah helped us feel totally natural. Very personable and flexible. I will definitely keep her in mind for any other shoots in the future."

-Kacey

"highly recommend"

"We have an aging, very sick dog that we wanted to good memories with and Leah did an amazing job capturing the essence of our little family! She was so sweet with our pups and an absolute joy to have in our home. I don't know if I've ever felt more comfortable in front of a camera!"

let's chat!

WHAT IF I NEED TO RESCHEDULE?
I understand life happens! But in fairness to other clients I do ask for 48 hours notice if you need to reschedule. When I schedule sessions I am turning down other potential clients, so please be courteous of my time and I will do the same with yours!

For rescheduling I offer a one time complimentary rescheduling if 48 hours notice is given. The retainer you paid upon booking will then transfer over to another date that works for us both! If you need to reschedule a second time a second retainer will be required to book your new date.

DO YOU RESCHEDULE IF IT RAINS?
Yes. But because the weather changes so quickly (hello Colorado) I like to reschedule as late as possible without inconveniencing you. Every month I have a few blocked off "bad weather days". If there's another open date that works for us both we can definitely move it then, free of charge.

I do also have several indoor locations if you don't want to reschedule!

I don't reschedule for temperature, (too hot/too cold), so make sure you dress accordingly!

WHEN AND HOW ARE OUR PHOTOS DELIVERED?
After your session I get to work on culling (going through and eliminating any blurry or unflattering shots) and color grading. In two weeks you will receive a link to your online gallery. You then get to choose the images you'd like to download per your package (5 for a 30 minute session, 15 for an hour, 35 for two hour) The images are full resolution, unwatermarked files. Additional images and prints are available for purchase.

Expedited delivery is available! A one week turnaround is available for a fee of $50, every additional day is an extra $10.

WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?
I am located in Broomfield, just 20 minutes north of Denver. I offer complimentary travel if your session location is within 40 miles of 80020. Outside of that 40 mile radius there is a $100/hr travel fee.

WHAT TYPES OF SESSIONS DO YOU OFFER?
I offer engagement sessions, senior and graduations sessions, and a limited number of family sessions. I don't currently offer maternity or newborn photos.

WHAT IS YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY STYLE?
I love warm colors, so I love shooting at golden hour right before the sun sets. I love authentic moments— families laughing or couples being goofy- those are the moments I want to capture. I want you to look back on your photos years from now and have them be timeless, genuine, and true to that point in your life.

WHAT IS THE BEST TIME FOR A PHOTOSHOOT?
It really depends on the look you're wanting and the location you choose! For romantic, golden, glowy photos you'll want to shoot at golden hour, this is typically the hour or two leading up to sunset. The light during this time is super flattering!

If you're shooting indoors, the optimal time will depend on if the windows are facing East or West (morning or evening light).

My booking calendars are set for early morning and evening shoots, but if you're doing an indoor session or want a more editorial, direct light look send me a message and I can adjust the booking window for you manually!
