Ale and Ryan’s engagement session in Vail

I absolutely loved photographing Ale and Ryan’s engagement photos in Vail. We started in Vail Village, which truly looks like a scene out of a Hallmark movie. It had snowed the day before, which meant there was a fresh layer of snow everywhere. Everything was twinkling and perfect as the sun hit the snow. I met up with Ale and Ryan at their hotel. They are both living in Minnesota but have a tradition to come to Vail often to go skiing. We had some coffee and then some champagne at one of the villages’ restaurants.

Then we headed for the mountains. We chose the Eagle Bahn Gondola in Lionshead Village because it has the better views of the mountains, including the Mountain of the Holy Cross. Directly across from the Gondola is the Vail Mountain Wedding Deck, which is the perfect spot for photos. As we were riding up Ale and Ryan had a few shots (which for legal reasons was totally non-alcoholic).

The whole session was so fun. We got quite a few strange looks from skiers, which amused us the whole time. Ale was such a trooper, she didn’t even have tights on!

I just love photographing engagement photos in Vail. It’s definitely one of my favorite spots for photos in Colorado.
