I already know Aubrey and Andrew’s Spring wedding at Chautauqua Lawn and Dining Hall is going to be one of my favorite weddings of the year– and the season just started!
These two were some of the sweetest, kindest people I’ve photographed. Their joy and love for another was absolutely contagious and throughout the day I just felt like I was photographing some of my lifelong friends.
Some highlights of the day:
To Aubrey & Andrew
Thank you both for trusting me to capture such a special day for y’all! Y’all have a special way of making people feel comfortable and at home– I felt it and it was clear that all your family and friends have felt that too. I hope you both had the best day ever and I cannot wait for you to relive the day in these photos! <3

“We met in the summer of 2020 on Hinge! We had our first several dates outdoors in some of our favorite spots around Chicago. We bonded quickly over our love of the outdoors and our shared Wisconsin roots.”
“Andrew proposed on a trip to South America. We were hiking the Fitz Roy in Argentina at the beginning of our trip and Andrew popped the question about 8 miles in! We spent two weeks backpacking and celebrating our engagement just the two of us :)”
“Before we moved to Colorado, we both had traveled here many times on our own. Our first trip to Colorado together our first stop was to the Flatirons. It’s a place we come for a casual hike quite frequently and loved the idea of getting married there.”
Aubrey and Andrew’s wedding day was perfection. Everything was green and lush, the temperature was a warm with a slight breeze and plenty of sun. The day began at the cottages up the hill from the dining hall. Aubrey’s nieces were there showing off their twirling flower girl dresses and complimenting Aubrey on how pretty she looked.
Once dressed, we walked down to a small garden, with Maggie Rogers in the background, the two had their First Look. It was perfect and sweet. We then walked back to their cottage where Andrew put on a piano recital for Aubrey. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room.
Next on the agenda was wedding party photos. We ventured out to the trailhead and took some pictures. Included were the couples neices and nephew who absolute stole the show. After a couple photos and some of the couple, we made our way to the ceremony space.
This ceremony space was incredible. It had a rolling lush green lawn and stunning view of the Flatirons. There were tons of curious picnickers who also spectated the wedding events. My favorite parts of their ceremony were their tree planting and their personal vows. I hear a lot of vows, but these felt so intimate and special. Originally Aubrey and Andrew were planning on doing their vows in private, so it was a real gift to be able to hear them.
After ceremony and their marriage license signing we did some quick family photos and few more couple photos before the couple got to head in and enjoy almost a full hour of cocktail hour. Right towards the end of cocktail hour, we were gifted some light rain which immediately cooled down the weather. And as everyone knows, rain on a wedding day is good luck.
Moving into reception, we had a sweet welcome speech by the couple and Aubrey’s dad and then dinner was served. After dinner their were a few toasts by friends and family and they were so thoughtful and funny and really spoke of how wonderful the couple was. Then it was time for dancing! The couple had a first dance followed by parent dances and then the dance floor was open. And who kicked it off? Aubrey’s grandma! She was the absolute life of the party! I was shocked to learn she was 80! It was one of my favorite parts of the day and reminded me to go call my grandmas!
We ended the night with a few sunset portraits and then I let the couple enjoy the rest of their dance party. From the outside, it was a perfect day. But it was so great to hear Aubrey and Andrew remark on how perfect it was for them too.
Much love again to the couple! Cheers!
