A guide to having a Della Terra Mountain Chateau Wedding
Della Terra Mountain Chateau is a stunning mountain wedding venue situated right outside the Fall River Entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park. It features a beautiful rock facade, cliffside views and an outdoor ceremony spot that is surrounded by trees.

A tour of a Della Terra Mountain Chateau Wedding
Getting Ready
For most couples, they choose to stay on location at Della Terra (you are gifted a complimentary room the night of your wedding!) which means that getting ready is super easy. Lots of couples have their family and friends staying on location as well, which takes away a lot of the stress of getting ready.
Ceremony
Ceremonies are held outdoors under their wooden pavilion. Guests are seated on an amphitheater style seating, which makes for a super unique “aisle” to walk down. In the event of inclement weather, you can have your ceremony indoors at the reception site. The reception site has beautiful windows and plenty of space so is a great backup plan!
Cocktail Hour
After your ceremony, you will likely have a cocktail hour to entertain guests while you take photos. Cocktail hours at Della Terra are held outdoors on the balcony area. There are plenty of covered awnings in case of rain or excessive heat and has plenty of space to spread out. I also love the electric fireplaces which creates a fun vibey mood.
Reception
Receptions at Della Terra are held indoors under their massive vaulted ceilings. There is tons of natural light and the space really morphs into whatever your vision is based on decorations! You can also have your first dance outdoors which I really love!
Photo Locations
The photo locations at Della Terra are truly some of the best I’ve ever photographed. You are minutes from Rocky Mountain National Park, which means you can get epic mountain views pretty easily. But if you don’t want to venture into the park or don’t have time, the views on location are also stunning. I just love the beautiful pines that have grown all around the venue and the rocky mountain right behind the venue.
Why you should have a Della Terra Wedding
- Close to Boulder and Estes Park. This venue is just one hour from downtown Boulder and right in the heart of Estes Park, making it easy to get to for you and your guests.
- You can stay on site. This is such a great perk! You don’t have to stress about moving locations or your guests finding safe rides home, everyone can stay at the venue!
- Minutes from Rocky Mountain National Park. If you want epic mountain views on your wedding day, Della Terra is the perfect venue because it is literally minutes from the park entrance.

June wedding at Della Terra
Cassidy and David’s June wedding day at Della Terra started off a bit rainy and overcast, but they didn’t let the weather stop them from smiling all day. Their day was family focused with lots of special touches honoring their traditions, things like a puzzle guest book and a dessert table of family recipes. It was one of my favorite weddings of the year.

Rainy July wedding at Della Terra
Despite the rain, Mollie and Joey’s wedding day was filled with warmth and joy. Their infectious kindness shone through as they smiled through the day. We braved the elements and ventured into Rocky Mountain for breathtaking portraits, and wrapped up the night on a delightful note with pizza from one of my favorite vendors, Mountain Crust.

Early spring May wedding at Della Terra
Emma and Eric’s May wedding at Della Terra Mountain Chateau was a celebration filled with warmth, family, and love. Having had the honor of photographing Emma’s sister’s wedding the prior year, I was deeply familiar with the family and was overjoyed to capture another precious milestone for them. The strong sense of kinship and the radiant love between Emma and Eric made this wedding truly special and heartwarming.
