Mollie & Joey
Summer Mountain Wedding

Weddings

You know those people that immediately make you feel like you’re best friends? Those people that are so warm and welcoming and genuine that you want to be best friends? Yeah. That’s Mollie and Joey. These two are some of the sweetest, most incredible people I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with.

I met these two way back in November when I did their engagement session. They brought their dog Obi (and an orchid for me as an engagement gift!!!)

Fast forward to June and it was finally wedding day for these two. The day was rainy and overcast– it even hailed for a couple minutes early in the day. But that didn’t dampen the spirits of Mollie and Joey. They both were adamant about wanting their wedding to take place outdoors, under the trees at the beautiful Della Terra wedding venue, rain or shine.

And boy oh boy did these two luck out. Before every single outdoor event the rain stopped completely. Mollie putting her dress on outside? No rain. Their first look? Not a drop. Portraits in Rocky Mountain? Completely dry. Their outdoor ceremony? The rain stopped as soon as they got to the altar. It was absolutely kismet and good fortune that Mollie and Joey deserved in spades!!

To Mollie & Joey

Thank you so much for trusting me to capture such a special day! Y’all have been so incredibly kind, welcoming and supportive of me and it’s been such a pleasure getting to know you both! Thanks for laughing at all my stupid jokes and being down for anything I threw at y’all. Wishing y’all all the happiness and love in the world!

The Details

How did y’all meet?

“Joey and I met on my first official day of being a flight attendant (and he’s a pilot for the same airline). We were both on the hotel shuttle to the airport in Orlando when we struck up a conversation. The conversation continued all the way to the gate area to the flight we were both working, and we were actually both late to check in because we had gotten carried away talking about our favorite tv show quotes. After the flight we both ended up on the same employee shuttle and picked up where we left off. When we were getting pretty close to the drop off Joey asked for me number (which I was secretly hoping he would do) and asked if I would like to grab drinks sometime, of course I said yes and flash forward 5 years we have a house and a golden retriever named Obi together and couldn’t be happier!”

Tell us about the proposal!

“Joey planned the most romantic proposal in Vail Colorado. He planned the entire weekend and filled it with couple messages, mimosas, and hot tubing. On that Saturday he planned for us to ride the gondola to the top of the mountain, where he set up his go-pro “to take a picture” (aka recording) and then he got down on one knee. Joey will tell anyone that he’s not a romantic guy butttt the effort and thought he put into the proposal tells a different story!”

What are you most looking forward to about being married?

“Being able to say “My husband ect ect” or “my wife ect ect” and it sounding more adult than “that’s my girlfriend/boyfriend/ fiancé) lol. And we are very excited to start a family, and just be one unit.”
