An Olana Wedding // Jocelyn + Blair

Weddings

Last week I had the pleasure of photographing Jocelyn and Blair’s intimate Olana wedding. I know I say this about every wedding and every couple, but these two were the sweetest people I’ve ever worked with. From the moment I arrived, Jocelyn and Blair were so incredibly warm and welcoming. At times I felt like more of a guest than a vendor. I know these two are going to be blessed with such an incredible marriage!

I am always super excited to photograph an Olana wedding. But this one I was extra looking forward to since it was an intimate wedding, only about 35 guests. I love intimate weddings because they are so much more personal and intentional. I get to know every single guest and can fully capture the day and all its nuances.

An Olana wedding is my favorite type of wedding

I always feel so inspired whenever I shoot at the Olana. There are grand staircases, hidden rooms, gorgeous hallways with floor to ceiling windows, a bowling alley (!!!) So no matter what the weather throws at you, I always know I can create something gorgeous at the Olana.

Getting Ready

The day started out cool and cloudy but started to sprinkle during the getting ready portion of our day. Which again, is totally fine since there are so many great indoor portrait spots at the Olana. Jocelyn had her full glam team and her little daughter was hanging out, painting, playing with toys. Though I’m pretty sure she was afraid of me (the mask, the height, and a big camera pointing at her definitely didn’t help). Jocelyn had a gorgeous beaded, strapless gown. She looked like a legit princess. And Blair had this bomb white tux. Him and his groomsmen looked so dapper!

The Ceremony

They decided last minute to bring the ceremony inside (which was a great call considering Jocelyn had a cathedral train, which would have been going craaazy in the wind). The ceremony was short and sweet. Jocelyn was walked down the aisle by Blair’s dad. It’s so freakin’ evident how much his family loves her. Every gals dream I swear.

Olana Wedding Portraits

After a few quick family and wedding party photos (another perk of a small wedding!!) We got to explore the gorgeous Olana taking some awesome photos. One of my favorite spots (clearly) is the all white hallway, one side had floor to ceiling windows, the other side has an awesome display of old ceramic plates. Then we went outside for a few quick photos. Including some in front of an all white Rolls Royce.

Party Time!

One misconception of small weddings is that they can’t turn a party. But Jocelyn and Blair’s guests knew how to turn up. All in all, it was such a beautiful wedding day. I hope Jocelyn and Blair felt so celebrated and loved!

To Jocelyn & Blair

Thank you so much for having me at y’alls wedding (and making sure I had food!) You and your family were so kind and welcoming. I hope your wedding was all you’ve dreamed of and I wish you lots and lots more love and happiness!
