Colorado Venues

Nestled in the heart of Manitou Springs, Craftwood Peak by Wedgewood Weddings feels like something out of a storybook. This historic manor sits beneath the shadow of Pikes Peak, surrounded by gardens, stone archways, and mountain views. It’s a venue that blends old-world charm with modern ease — perfect for couples wanting a romantic, intimate celebration without sacrificing luxury.

As a Colorado wedding photographer, I love shooting at Craftwood Peak because every corner feels intentional. From the hand-carved wood beams to the lush courtyards, the setting photographs beautifully no matter the season. Here’s everything you need to know about hosting your wedding at Craftwood Peak — from pricing and logistics to what your wedding day might look like from start to finish.

About Craftwood Peak

Built in the early 1900s, Craftwood Peak (formerly known as the Craftwood Inn) has been lovingly restored into one of Colorado’s most charming wedding venues. Located just five minutes from downtown Colorado Springs and steps from Garden of the Gods, it’s a destination that feels tucked away yet completely accessible.

The property features manicured gardens, stone pathways, cozy cottages, and panoramic views of Pikes Peak. Inside, you’ll find rich wood paneling, stained glass windows, and glowing fireplaces that make the venue feel timeless and inviting.

It’s ideal for couples who love a mix of natural beauty and historic elegance — think cozy mountain manor meets elevated garden party.

Craftwood Peak Wedding Pricing & Logistics

Wedgewood Weddings offers all-inclusive packages that make planning at Craftwood Peak seamless. While pricing varies based on date, guest count, and customizations, here’s what couples can expect:

  • Venue fee: $1,200–$1,600 depending on the season and day of the week
  • Ceremony site fee: Around $500–$1,500 depending on peak or off-peak dates
  • Packages: Begin around $60 per person and include catering, linens, china, glassware, staff, and coordination
  • Average total investment: $14,000–$20,000+ for most weddings

Peak season runs from April through October, with discounted rates often available in the winter months (excluding December).

Parking is available on-site, and the venue’s proximity to downtown Manitou and Colorado Springs means guests have plenty of nearby lodging options.

A Tour of Craftwood Peak

Getting Ready

Couples can start their day in one of Craftwood’s private cottages — a cozy, light-filled space perfect for wedding morning photos. The bridal cottage features vintage furnishings, mirrors, and soft natural light that photographs beautifully. The groom’s den has a relaxed, woodsy charm with leather seating and classic details. Both spaces allow your wedding party to get ready comfortably on-site without feeling rushed or crowded.

The Ceremony

Ceremonies at Craftwood Peak often take place in the garden courtyard, framed by stone archways, flowering trees, and mountain views in the distance. The sound of the waterfall nearby adds a romantic touch, and the natural beauty of the space means you don’t need much décor — the venue itself does the work. Sunset ceremonies here are breathtaking as golden light filters through the gardens.

Cocktail Hour

After the ceremony, guests typically move to the outdoor terraces or garden patios for cocktails. Servers pass appetizers while everyone mingles among blooming flowers and rustic stonework. It’s the perfect time to sneak away for a few portraits while your guests enjoy the scenery.

Couples Photos

There’s no shortage of photo spots at Craftwood Peak. From ivy-covered walls and arched entryways to the old stone staircases and forested nooks, everything feels cinematic. I love photographing couples here during golden hour when the light hits the foothills just right — it creates that soft, glowing warmth that makes Colorado weddings feel magical.

The Reception

Receptions are held in the main hall, but larger weddings will have some tables placed upstairs where dancing takes place or out in the courtyard where cocktail hour is.

Special dances can be held outside with management approval or upstairs in the main dancing area.

Pros and Cons of a Craftwood Peak Wedding

Pros

  • Historic architecture and gardens create an effortlessly beautiful backdrop — perfect for timeless, romantic photos.
  • The venue’s all-inclusive approach simplifies planning without feeling cookie-cutter.
  • The location is ideal — close to Colorado Springs but still feels secluded and serene.
  • Getting-ready cottages make logistics simple and elevate the wedding day experience.

Cons

  • The venue is best suited for weddings under 150 guests; larger parties may feel a bit tight indoors.
  • Limited open space for photos– while there are lots of cute little corners, larger wedding parties and family photos can be difficult to photograph.
  • Outdoor ceremonies are stunning, but Colorado weather can be unpredictable — always have a backup plan.
  • Because Wedgewood handles most services in-house, there’s limited flexibility with outside vendors.
  • Optional upgrades like premium bar packages or specialty décor can increase overall costs.

Tips for Couples Considering Craftwood Peak

  • Visit during your ceremony time to see how light moves through the garden and interior spaces. The light is direct during ceremony time, I highly recommend a later evening ceremony so you and your guests aren’t baking in the sun.
  • Build in time for sunset portraits — the light in Manitou Springs is incredible just before dusk.
  • Ask about décor and upgrade options early so you can tailor the space to your vision.
  • Coordinate guest transportation if most guests are staying in Colorado Springs; the drive is short but curvy.
  • Lean into the venue’s character — warm lighting, soft florals, and classic design elements complement the historic architecture beautifully.
  • Ask about outdoor dancing – due to noise ordinances, you might not be able to have dancing outdoors. If possible, see about an earlier start to reception so you can have those romantic, outdoor photos.
