I could write all day about Crooked Willow Farms, but for your sake (and mine), let’s break it down into a few key highlights:
You know what they say: location, location, location. As a photographer, I’m always looking for those perfect spots where nature, architecture, and light combine to create magical moments. Crooked Willow Farms is a goldmine of photo ops. From the lush gardens to the stunning red barn, the horse stables (yes, you read that right), and the mountain views in the distance, there’s no shortage of gorgeous settings for your wedding portraits.
With multiple indoor and outdoor ceremony and reception spaces, Crooked Willow offers flexibility no matter the weather. You can say “I do” in front of the barn, under a canopy of trees, or in the venue’s stylish indoor spaces. Everything is contained in one location, making transitions smooth and giving you more time to enjoy your day (instead of worrying about traveling between venues).
This venue strikes the perfect balance between rustic charm and polished elegance. Whether you want a casual country vibe or something more upscale, the venue’s aesthetic can be tailored to fit your wedding vision. And the Bridal Suite and Groom’s Room? Super stylish and functional for all those pre-wedding moments!
The team at Crooked Willow Farms is top-notch. They’ve hosted countless weddings, so they know how to keep things running smoothly. From set-up to tear-down, they’re on it, leaving you and your guests to focus on celebrating.
While I’m a big fan of Crooked Willow Farms, there are a few things to consider before locking in your date:
As I mentioned, Crooked Willow Farms isn’t a budget-friendly option. The cost might be prohibitive for couples with a tighter budget, especially when you factor in extras like catering, décor, and floral arrangements. But if you’re ready to invest in your dream wedding, this venue is totally worth it!
If your guests are coming from out of town, the location in Larkspur is a bit of a drive from Denver (about 45 minutes). While this isn’t necessarily a dealbreaker, it’s something to consider when planning for transportation or accommodation options for your loved ones.
Like all stunning venues, Crooked Willow Farms books up fast, especially during peak wedding season. If you’ve got your heart set on a summer or fall wedding, I’d recommend booking ASAP to secure your date.
If you’re after a wedding venue that offers incredible photo ops, flexible indoor/outdoor spaces, and a rustic-elegant vibe, The Venue at Crooked Willow Farms should definitely be on your radar. While the cost and distance might be a challenge for some, I can’t overstate how beautiful and stress-free a wedding here can be.
And trust me, your photos? They’re going to be stunning.

The Venue at Crooked Willow Farms is truly stunning, with its gorgeous bright red exterior– it’s giving barn but in an upscale and modern way. The grounds are well manicured with tons of different backdrops for photos, from the open meadow to small pond, this venue is 10/10 for it’s picturesque vibes.
The getting ready suites at Crooked Willow Farms are super spacious. One getting ready suite is especially bright and airy with two connecting rooms and tons of natural light. The other suite is a bit moodier with leather and brass finishes. Both are conveniently located for ease and movement the morning of your big day.
Ceremonies are usually held on the outdoor meadow, weather permitting. This offers a gorgeous mountain view in the distance and is perfect for large or small gatherings. You can enter from the barn to the right for an epic entrance down the stairs if you’re looking for all the drama.
Cocktail hour is held outdoors in front of the dining hall. You can also use the indoor space where there’s another bar, in the event of inclement weather. There is plenty of space for a full bar and a variety of standing and seating room. It is right near the main parking and road, so you will have some traffic and cars going by.
There are SO many locations for photos, depending on time you can get epic views of the Flatirons and even drive up Flagstaff mountain for an epic overlook. However, if you want to stay close by, the lawn is a gorgeous spot for photos. Some of my favorite photos were in and around the cottages.
The reception space is in a large tented space which provides a perfect backdrop for a myriad of decor choices. There is ample room for several larger tables as shown below and tons of natural light. Most couples will do toasts and cake cutting in this space and then venture into the adjacent room for special dancing and open dancing.
There is a ton of room for open dancing in the room off of the tented reception space. There is a large stone fireplace and lots of cool, rustic decor that has a very quintessential Colorado feel.
A few more favorite photos from this stunning wedding day. From sweet first looks to goofy grins, this wedding was such a joy to photograph. Hope you found some inspiration for your upcoming big day!
