Koenig Alumni Center is located right in the heart of CU Boulder. The venue is in a historic style building with brick facade and wrap around porch. The surrounding area is filled with gorgeous, old trees and a rolling lawn. This spot has the feel of a backyard wedding but so much space.
There is tons of getting ready space at the Koenig Alumni Center. The space has tons of natural light and room to spread out. There are lots of different rooms with various seating areas, so really you can find a spot that you feel most comfortable.
Ceremonies are held outdoors in front of their gazebo. The space is private and lush with tons of trees and greenery. The center says the occupancy is 200 people, but I think the sweet spot would be closer to 80-100 max. This venue really thrives as a slightly more intimate wedding venue, I’d recommend leaning into the backyard feel.
Cocktail hour is held on the lawn where ceremony was, but guests can also venture indoors if they want to escape the elements. There is a massive wrap around porch with tons of seating and provides a great spot for the bar. There is even a small view of the Flatirons.
CU Boulder is such a gorgeous school, the options for photos are absolutely limitless. From the sprawling lawn with massive trees, to the pond with old brick bridge– there are so many different spots for photos and groups big and small, all within a few minute walk of the ceremony space.
Receptions are held under the white tent on the lawn area but you can also utilize the porch if you need more seating. The venue does a great job of maximizing space, everything feels super close and convenient without feeling cramped. Most weddings do a buffet style dinner under the second tented structure, which is also the location for the DJ and most dancing to occur.
