The Barn at Howard Creek Farm is a stunning wedding venue located just outside Salida, Colorado (one of my favorite small mountain towns!) The venue is about 3 hours from Denver making it the perfect “getaway” location while still being accessible to all your guests.
This venue is run and operated by Aly and her husband, truly two of the sweetest, most caring venue owners I’ve ever worked with! Aly makes sure your day is running smoothly and communication with her was an absolute breeze!

Getting ready is super easy at this venue since there are two massive getting ready areas on site. The first is the small barn which has an entire floor to use. There is tons of natural light and space to spread out. The other getting ready space is the silo which is just on the other side of the main barn.
Ceremonies at the Barn at Howard Creek Farm are usually held in the meadow a short walk from the main barn. This space has beautiful mountain views and rustic touches.
Erin and Tyler’s wedding had some inclement weather so we pivoted to the porch backup plan! This option still provided gorgeous views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains.
Cocktail hour is held on the porch, which offers plenty of space while still being covered in the event of rain! There is also space over by the silo which has cornhole and beautiful twinkly lights!
Receptions are held in the massive 4,000 square foot main barn, which is the perfect size for around 150 guests. The space has vaulted ceilings and twinkly lights, making the space perfect for a vibey evening.
Note: the reception space can be a bit dark (which lends itself to a lovely romantic vibe) but make sure your photographer is comfortable photographing in low light!
Wedding portraits are such a dream at the Barn at Howard Creek Farm! The mountains are right there which makes it really hard to take a bad photo! If you’re wanting a rustic wedding venue with a mountain backdrop, this might be the spot for you!
