Last week I did senior photos for Allison, a high school senior, at Deep Ellum. She wanted photos that were fun and colorful- so naturally Deep Ellum was the perfect place!
Allison was an awesome model, she was willing to sit in a slightly abandoned store, throw confetti (biodegradable, of course) and lean against the countless walls that are scattered across Deep Ellum.
Since there are so many murals, it creates a completely different look for every single senior photo session I do in Deep Ellum. Another great perk? There’s a gorgeous park- Oak Lawn, just a 10 minute drive away. It’s a great way to introduce a little greenery or nature into your senior photos if you don’t want just the industrial look.
Senior portraits are how I started my photography business. It began when a few friends asked me to do their photos, I did them free, of course. (Actually I think they bought me a meal.) Then other people started asking me, and I thought, “well I guess I could charge for this”. I started doing super inexpensive shoots to build my portfolio, I loved it. I don’t do too many senior photos anymore, but everytime I do I remember how much I enjoy them.
Since you’re here, some of these other posts might be helpful in planning your upcoming senior session:
