Senior photos at CU Boulder are best during golden hour
Lots of people often ask when is the best time to take photos- and 90% of the time my answer is golden hour! Golden hour is the hour or two before sunset and creates gorgeous, golden light. This light is incredibly flattering and what gives my images that nice warm hue. But depending on if you want to have your session on campus or another location (check out some of my favorite spots here), the best lighting might vary. But don’t worry, I’ll help you with all the planning and logistics leading up to your session.
When in doubt, bring a friend to your senior session!
These girls opted to do a group session for their senior photos. I love group sessions because it makes everyone feel so much more comfortable to have a buddy! In all group sessions I still make sure to get individuals of everyone! If you want to do a group session for your senior photos, just make sure you coordinate your outfits so you don’t clash. Where to take your CU Boulder Graduation Photos
The world is your oyster when it comes to a location for your CU Boulder graduation photos. You can choose to have your pictures taken on campus or at a secondary location. For some sessions, we can even do multiple locations. (Like starting on campus and then finishing your session at a spot like Chautauqua nearby).

What to wear to your CU Boulder senior session

Bring an outfit change
I always recommend bringing one casual and one fancy outfit, that way you have some variety! But too many outfits can cut into your photo taking time and create a gallery that’s all over the place. So for an hour session, stick with two outfits!
Try on each outfit with your cap and gown
Each outfit will sit differently with your cap and gown. Some colors might clash with your sash colors. Try on each outfit to see which looks best.
