Best of 2021 – Weddings & Elopements

2021, what a year. This was the year I officially moved my business to Colorado and holy cow, it was a whirlwind. Here are some of my favorite photos from this year, it was hard to nail down, so grab a glass a wine, you might be here for a while.

Weddings

The Portrait Session

I’m starting this post off with the bangers. I know that’s not chronological, but who cares. These are the portrait session photos– usually taken in 20-30 minutes around sunset. I always remember to squeeze in some solo shots during this time, because who doesn’t want solo photos of them looking bomb on their wedding day???

Getting Ready & Details

I’m not a huge detail gal– I would much rather photograph your dress on you than on a hanger and I would hate to miss moments of you and your friends getting ready while taking photos of invitations. But here’s a few detail favs and some getting ready images.

The First Looks

Surprisingly, most of my couples didn’t choose a First Look in 2021. I love First Looks, I will be doing one when I get married, but I’m a huge advocate of making the day all about y’all, so do what feels right!

The Ceremony

Boy were there some tearjerkers in 2021. From emotional send offs to heartfelt vows to ecstatic processionals, this year was one of my favorite ceremony years.

Wedding Parties

I had some fun wedding parties in 2021. I love when wedding parties are down for whatever and having a good laugh.

In between moments

In between moments are some of my favorite things to capture throughout a wedding day, small touches, quick glances– these little moments tell a big part of my couples story.

Reception

Dances, toasts, cake cutting, etc. My couples in 2021 nixed everything that didn’t feel like them, which lent to beautiful, authentic receptions that truly captured their essence.

Dance Floor

I have a new love for dance floor photos. 2021 was the year of gettin close, doing some fun stuff with lights and hearing lots and lots of Doja Cat.

Elopements

2021 was the year of elopements for me. When my business was in Texas I did maybe 1 or 2 elopements at the Botanical Garden– this year I photographed 11 and loved every single one.

And that’s a wrap on 2021! Truly would not have been such an incredible year if it weren’t for all my amazing couples. Thank you all for being so rad, welcoming and unequivocally you.
